07K Longitudinal Swap

Some projects really test you, and this was certainly one of them.

With plenty of help from our good friend @sa_engineering, this longitudinal 07K swap has taken a lot of effort. Countless hours were spent planning every stage of the build, paying attention to the smallest details and thinking several steps ahead. We think the near-end result speaks for itself (once we finish tweaking the final problems / integrations and put the lid on it)

At the heart of it all is a MaxxECU GEN2 Race, controlling the engine while seamlessly integrating with the original dashboard and taking over the majority of the factory vehicle systems. The aim from the outset was to make the electronics look as though they belonged there, despite everything being built from scratch and retain the street car look.

The engine harness features one of our concentric-twisted looms, terminated through a MIL-Spec bulkhead connector to keep everything tidy, serviceable and built to last.

Although the project is still ongoing, it’s now at the point where all of the hard work is beginning to pay off. We’re excited to see the final stages come together and can’t wait to get it out on the road.
